my favourite Weapons from movies part1

1; Aliens. Pulse Rifle.  “I wanna introduce you to a personal friend of mine. This is an M41A pulse rifle. Ten millimeter with over-and-under thirty millimeter pump action grenade launcher.”

This is a definitive science fiction weapon, a mixture of real world weaponary put together to create a aesthetically pleasing Xenomorph killer. The pulse rifles were created from a Thompson SMG, with an attached forend of a Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun and a Remington 12 Gauge Model 870P receiver with barrel. The rifle influenced Science Fiction weaponary in films such as the "Morita Rifle" in "starship Troopers"

Morita Rifle From "starship Troopers"

DC-15S Blaster from Star Wars (Attack Of The Clones,Revenge Of The Sith and all of the
subsequent animated serials)

I could have made this really obvious and pick the E-11 blaster rifle (Stormtrooper standard issue blaster rifle).
The DC-15S blaster was the blaster carbine variant of BlasTech's DC-15A blaster rifle which i also like. It is extremely long and cumbersome, but very imposing, with a better range than the carbine. This weapon was carried by the clone troopers of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars.
This is the direct predecessor for the famous Stormtrooper blaster. It is a less enhanced E-11 if you will, a much more cleaner simple design compared to future Blastech's.

The animated version of the DC-15S from the Clone Wars CG cartoon
(note the more simplistic design which i love)

DC-15A blaster rifle

E-ll blaster rifle (built from a British-made Sterling L2A3 sub-machine gun)

The AMR-B5 (assault rifle) ,from the film "District 9"

A AMR-B5 variant which didnt show up in the actual film

AMR-B5 Assault rifle also known as the repeater.
The first gun presented to Wikus van der Merwe (by the MNU scientists) at the underground shooting range at MNU headquarters, the Assault rifle makes short work of the porcine kadaver strung up for target practice.

This weapon is an automatic extraterrestrial weapon that Christopher Johnson used when he was storming the MNU building with Wikus. The weapon works as an automatic rifle.

AMR-B21 Arc Generator

The AMR-B21 ARC gun, also referred to as a Mulcher, is an extraterrestrial weapon, and as such only works in the hands of a non-human or Wikus. The weapon utilizes highly dangerous protonic current which has a high damage radius and damage capability. Upon direct contact with a biological entity, one hit from the weapon causes the entity to superheat and explode in a violent, swift, and often messy manner. Although a direct hit is the most effective, even minor superficial damage from the weapon can yield fatal results such as horrible burns and even dismemberment.

Paul Gray

On May 24, 2010, The Des Moines Register reported that Gray had been found dead in a room at the Towneplace Suites hotel in Urbandale, Iowa at about 10:50 local time. He is survived by his wife Brenna who was expecting their first child at the time of his death.

On June 21, 2010, autopsy results were released that stated Gray had died of an accidental overdose of morphine and fentanyl, and had also shown signs of "significant heart disease".

This drawing is for Paul, This is my tribute to number 2,  that badass bassist.

Evil ronald Reagan

The end has come.

My favourite band have split up last week, here is there own words on this sad time:

ISIS has reached an end. It's hard to try to say it in any delicate way, and it is a truth that is best spoken plainly. This end isn't something that occurred over night and it hasn't been brought about by a single cataclysmic fracture in the band. Simply put, ISIS has done everything we wanted to do, said everything we wanted to say. In the interest of preserving the love we have of this band, for each other, for the music made and for all the people who have continually supported us, it is time to bring it to a close. We've seen too many bands push past the point of a dignified death and we all promised one another early on in the life of the band that we would do our best to ensure ISIS would never fall victim to that syndrome. We've had a much longer run than we ever expected we would and accomplished a great deal more than we ever imagined possible. We never set any specific goals when the band was founded other than to make the music we wanted to hear and to play (and to stay true to that ideal), so everything else that has come along the long and winding path has been an absolute gift. As with any momentous life-changing decision (which this certainly is for the 5 of us), we feel a very dynamic range of emotions about this and cannot express all of it within the space of a few sentences, and perhaps it's best to do what we've always done in and let our music speak for us. It is and has been the truest expression of who we are as a collective and in some ways who we are as individuals for the 13 years in which we've been together. The last and perhaps most important thing we might say in relation to all this is how grateful we are for the people that have supported us over the years. It is a lengthy list that would include those who put out our records, those that played on them and put them to tape, the many bands with whom we shared the stage, all of our family, friends and companions who supported us in our individual lives and thus made it possible for us to continue on in the band, and most importantly those who truly listened to our music whether in recorded form or by coming to out to our shows (or both). It is quite true that we would never have done what we have without those people, that is many of you who are reading this. Our words can never fully express what we feel, but we hope that our music and the efforts made to bring it into being can serve as a more proper expression of gratitude for this life and for everyone in it. Thank you.

In more immediate and practical terms the tour we are about to embark upon is indeed our last. We are hoping that these final live rituals can help us bring a close to the life of this band in a celebratory and reverent way, and also provide us with a chance to say goodbye to many of those that have supported us over the years. While there is a measure of sadness that comes with the passing of this band, we hope that the final days can be joyous ones during which any and all that wish to come and join us will do so. It seems fitting that the last show of the tour and of our active existence will take place in Montreal, the site of the very first ISIS show in 1997 (though that was an unintentional move when booking the show initially). After the tour we also plan to follow through with other projects set in motion some time ago - pursuing the completion of a final EP, compiling live audio and visual material for future releases, and generally doing whatever we can to make our music available for as long as there are people who wish to hear it.

Thanks again to any and all,

Ridley Scott Reveals 'Alien' Prequel Details

To say this is exciting is a understatement. Mtv caught up with a certain Ridley Scott on his plans for the new alien prequel!
It isn't overstating things to say that Ridley Scott is among the greatest filmmakers of all time, and "Alien" is among the greatest films of all time. So how could anyone not be eager to learn every little detail about his prequel to the 1979 classic?

On Thursday (April 22), we caught up with the "Robin Hood" director to speak with him for next week's MTV Summer Movie Preview. And when he mentioned that he was feasting his eyes upon the latest "Untitled 'Alien' Prequel" script pages, we couldn't help but ask some questions.

What followed might be the most revealing interview Sir Ridley has given thus far on the top-secret project. Read on for exclusive details concerning the prequel's plot, creature design and the woman — not named Sigourney Weaver — who will soon be kicking alien ass:

MTV: We're very excited about your return to the "Aliens" world — what's going on with it at this point?

Ridley Scott: As we speak, I've got a pile of pages next to me; it's like the fourth draft. It's a work in progress, but we're not dreaming it up anymore. We know what the story is. We're now actually trying to improve the three acts and make the characters better, build it up to something [we can shoot]. It's a work in progress, but we're actually making the film. There's no question about it, we're going to make the film.

MTV: Awesome.

Scott: Now it's a matter of, how good can I get the screenplay in the next few weeks so I can get a good ballpark figure of what it will cost. I've already got people working graphically on designs for the various requirements of the film.

MTV: Since this is a prequel, will you need to make the ships more primitive-looking than in "Alien"?

Scott: It's set in 2085, about 30 years before Sigourney [Weaver's character Ellen Ripley]. It's fundamentally about going out to find out 'Who the hell was that Space Jockey?' The guy who was sitting in the chair in the alien vehicle — there was a giant fellow sitting in a seat on what looked to be either a piece of technology or an astronomer's chair. Remember that?

MTV: Of course.

Scott: And our man [Tom Skerritt as Captain Dallas] climbs up and says "There's been an explosion in his chest from the inside out — what was that?" I'm basically explaining who that Space Jockey — we call him the Space Jockey — I'm explaining who the space jockeys were.

MTV: And is the Weyland-Yutani company in existence at this point?

Scott: It's Weyland. Weyland hasn't joined Yutani yet, so they go and see Weyland. [The film] is about the discussion of terraforming — taking planets and planetoids and balls of earth and trying to terraform, seed them with the possibilities of future life.

MTV: We know how obsessive "Alien" fans can get. Are you going to make a film that doesn't require having seen any of the other movies?

Scott: Totally. Yes. [People will still get it], because there's a lot of copying, dude.

MTV: There's a lot of copying of your movies.

Scott: There's a lot of homage. Is that the polite word? Homage? I call it something else. [Laughs.]

/

Its not strange to care about my story
Ive never had the glory
Salvation was my name, born from a seed i planted
But incarnation is what i wanted

If i i walk in a straight line
If i hate in the right way
Can i become better than the majority
or can i barter for the minority

Forget what i say
It doesnt mean anything anyway
Dont cry for me
just fly and be free

If you take a shot at me
You may kill me
A blind man fires from afar
But i laugh and jump at the stars

Gazing in my eyes at night
Gazing and seeing my sight
Sights of my hopes and fears
And you just turn away in tears

To stand up and fight for your belief
Is commendable to say the least
Crack a bottle and celebrate
Think about the good times and exaggerate

That if i walked the line mabye i could have been...someone in my own time

Doctor Who Series 5 Trailer

Gil Alexander

Hmm this is a strange one.

Ive seen loads of Gils from bioshock 2 getting put about the now, and i wanted to put my mark on what i would have liked him to look like. My Gil is a mixture of the concept in the artbook, my take on him, and the actual in-game look. I tried to keep him more humanoid i guess, with the teeth and mouth, considering he could speak fine. I just wanted him really gory looking, with mounds of flesh and what not.
